New Streaming Platform Kick.com is generating buzz among content creators as a potential rival to Twitch, mostly within the gambling slots streaming sections.

New Streaming Platform KICK.com Emerges as Potential Rival to Twitch.tv

A new streaming platform, KICK.com, has emerged and is generating buzz among content creators as a potential rival to the popular streaming site Twitch.tv. KICK has recently launched its beta service, enabling content creators to stream their favorite video games to viewers. The platform closely resembles other streaming sites, including the widely used Twitch.tv.

Beta Version of KICK.com is Live for Users to Access

The beta version of Kick.com is now live for users to access. For those wondering what the platform is all about, it is the newest streaming website. By the looks of it, the platform shares several similarities with Twitch.

Kick.com’s interface and outlook are almost the same as that of the purple platform, including the typical “recommended” section on the left of the screen and categories that are divided into different sub-sections of streaming such as “Just Chatting,” “IRL,” and games such as Call of Dury: Warzone 2.0, League of Legends and Overwatch 2, among several others.

Gambling / Slots Category on KICK.com

One noticeable difference is the Gambling category. Twitch has banned unlicensed gambling/slot websites, which include stake.com. The decision came after a long-going furor in the community regarding the topic of gambling on Twitch.

However, Kick.com appears to have taken a more lenient approach. The website features a dedicated section for gambling, allowing streamers to stream online slots, online live casino, sportsbetting and other gambling games.

Trainwreckstv joins KICK.com

KICK.com recently gained attention when popular streamer trainwreckstv announced that he would be joining the platform as a “non-owner advisor” and “non-exclusive broadcaster”. Trainwreckstv also revealed that the platform’s goal is to provide creators with a greater share of revenue generated through monetization of streams. The split is 95% for creators and 5% for the platform.

KICK.com Aims to Assist Creators

In a detailed post on TwitLonger, trainwreckstv stated that the platform is designed to assist “creators succeed where Twitch has failed.” He highlighted that KICK aims to give new streamers access to a subscriber button immediately, which is currently only available to well-established streamers on Twitch.tv. With this, viewers can pay a monthly fee to see their favorite content creators’ streams without ads. Additionally, the platform aims to provide streamers with 100% of all tips given to them and a clear and understandable Terms of Service for all streamers.

User Influx and Comparison to Twitch

The website has already seen a massive influx of users, although it is still behind Twitch in terms of the total number of active users and streamers.

Apart from trainwreckstv streamer, the platform is also very attractive for new streamers such as ZlawsPlay.

In a short interview, ZlawsPlay explained how they managed to capitalize on the early success of KICK.com. Helping them to build a small but steadily growing community.
Admittedly, they said, “it’s not as easy as it looks to set yourself up as a streamer. But KICK.com appears to be heading in the right direction to assist new streamers like us in reaching our goals.”

A mobile app is soon to be released and despite having some bugs, the website has been received in a positive light. Especially since features and bug fixes are being released in a very fast paced.

It remains to be seen if the website will continue to grow at its current pace in the near future.
